Everything after you buy it
We alter the first time free, we mend anything at any age, and we would rather fix a coat than sell you a second one. All of that is only worth something with prices and turnarounds attached, so they are below.
Orders
Placed, changed, or gone quiet.
- Changing an order
- Anything not yet cut or picked can be changed for about two hours after it is placed. After that it ships and you send it back.
- Nothing arrived by email
- Check the address you typed, then the spam folder, then write to us. We can resend a confirmation to the same address, never to a different one.
- Paying
- Card at checkout. We do not store card details — the payment processor holds them and we never see the number.
- Made-to-order pieces
- Coats cut to order take three weeks and cannot be changed once the cloth is cut. That point is stated on the product page before you buy.
Delivery
What it costs and how long it takes.
- In the city
- Next working day, free over 150. Under that, 6.
- Nationwide
- Two to four working days, free over 150, otherwise 9.
- Neighbouring countries
- Five to eight working days, 18 flat, duties included.
- Tracking
- Sent when the parcel leaves us, not when the label is printed — so the first scan is always real.
Alterations
Free, first time, on anything bought here.
- Sleeves and hems
- Free within ninety days of purchase. Around a week in the workroom, plus post each way.
- Taking in a waist or a back
- Free within ninety days on jackets, coats and trousers. Two sizes is the practical limit before a garment stops hanging correctly.
- After ninety days
- Charged at cost — usually 20 to 45 depending on the seam. We quote before starting, always.
- Things we will not do
- We will not shorten a coat below its intended break or let out a seam with no cloth in it. We will say so rather than take the money.
Repairs
At any age. Including garments you bought second-hand.
- Moth holes and small tears
- Rewoven by hand where the cloth allows. From 25. Two to three weeks.
- Seams, linings, buttons
- Reseated, replaced or relined. From 15. About a week.
- Zips
- Replaced with the same weight and colour. From 30, and we keep the original puller where we can.
- Elbows and cuffs
- Patched or rebuilt in matching cloth. Quoted case by case — send a photograph first and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth doing.
Returns
Sixty days, unworn, with the tags on.
- The window
- Sixty days from delivery. Longer than the law requires because a coat bought in September is often not properly tried until October.
- Condition
- Unworn and untagged-off. Tried on indoors is fine — that is what trying on is.
- Refunds
- To the original payment method within five working days of the parcel reaching us.
- Altered garments
- Cannot be returned once cut, which is why alterations are booked separately and never applied automatically.
A coat that comes back for a new lining at year nine is the best thing that can happen to us.
