Delivery
How it gets to you
Two people, into the room you want it in, packaging taken away. The long part is not the journey — it is the workshop queue, so the lead times below are read straight from the catalogue rather than rounded into a promise.
Lead times
Three states across the catalogue. Nothing here is ever sold out — a piece is either on a shelf or in a queue, and the queue has a date on it.
In stock
5 working days
Finished, in the warehouse, and booked for delivery as soon as you have chosen a date.
10 pieces — Fennwick Bouclé Lounge Chair, Ardley Velvet Three-Seater, Ostley Ash Dining Chair and others
Low stock
5 working days
Fewer than six left of the current run. Still ships from stock, but the finish you want may not survive the week.
1 piece — Marlow Velvet Dining Chair
Made to order
9–9 weeks
Cut, joined and finished after you order it. The lead time is the workshop queue plus the build, and we give a firm date at checkout.
1 piece — Norreby Reeded Sideboard
Where we deliver
Transit time is from the day the piece leaves the workshop, not from the day you order. Add the lead time above for anything made to order.

Getting it through the door
The most common failed delivery in this trade is a sofa on a landing. Four minutes with a tape measure prevents almost all of them.
Measure the doorway, not the room
The number that matters is the narrowest point on the route, usually a turn on a stair rather than a door. Every piece lists a width and a depth, and the diagonal of those two is what has to fit.
Tell us about the stairs beforehand
Above the second floor without a lift we send three people instead of two. It costs nothing extra, but it has to be booked, and a crew that arrives to a surprise will not attempt it.
Sideboards and three-seaters come apart
The Norreby drops its plinth and the Ardley loses its arms, which takes about 90cm off the widest point. We do it on site and reassemble in the room.
If it will not go in, we take it back
Full refund including the delivery charge, and we will say so honestly on the phone beforehand if we think the measurements are marginal.
Questions
Can I change the finish after ordering?
Until the piece is cut, which for made-to-order is about two weeks after you order. After that the timber is committed. Write to us and we will tell you exactly where in the queue it is, along with the price difference either way.
What happens if the lead time slips?
We tell you the week we find out rather than the week it was due, and you can cancel for a full refund at any point before it ships. In 2025 four orders ran late out of about nine hundred, all of them travertine.
Do you deliver to an apartment above the second floor?
Yes, with three crew instead of two, booked in advance and at no extra cost. Where a stairwell genuinely cannot take a piece we will say so before you order rather than after.
Can I return a made-to-order piece?
Yes. Fourteen days from delivery, same as anything else, and we collect. A made-to-order piece cut in an unusual finish is the one case where we charge the return leg, and the amount is on the order confirmation before you commit.
Is the delivery date confirmed at checkout?
A week is confirmed at checkout, and the specific day and four-hour window about ten days out. You can move it twice at no cost.
After it arrives
Fourteen days to change your mind
On anything, including made to order. We collect it ourselves rather than sending you to a depot with a sideboard.
A care kit in the box
Hardwax oil, a cloth and a pad, enough for about three years of a dining table. Instructions on one side of one card.
Repaired for life
Joints, finishes, upholstery, at any age. We keep your drawings, which is how we cut a matching part twenty years later.
Re-covered rather than replaced
Frames outlast covers by decades. A Fennwick can go back for new cloth at about a third of the price of a new chair.
